More than 4 years ago, after 10 attempts to get a promotion in a span of around 2 years, I finally got it in March 2015. That’s when I met Chris Stephens, the General Counsel (GC) of ADB, since December 2012.

In all those unsuccessful applications, I didn’t feel discouraged because I know from experience that if something is not meant for me, it’s meant to bless another person. And surely the right blessing for me will come at the right time when I’m ready for it.

Getting that promotion has led me to experiencing God’s best in my life by having the most wonderful time working and learning with GC and in our department, by giving me that wonderful and kind of exclusive opportunity to knowing an exceptionally amazing, dependable, kindhearted boss, leader, friend, and family man. The authenticity and integrity in his character (is) very evident and truly admirable.

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Now that he has decided to move on to be reunited with his family in the US and work at IFC, I am affected and very sad about it, so are many other colleagues and friends in the bank. But it will not keep us from feeling very grateful and blessed that Chris Stephens happened in our lives and he made very positive and lasting impacts in each of us.

This ending will surely lead us to the next God’s best, this I am certain because God has proven His faithfulness, time and time again.
He knows what’s best for us, always.
